POSITION REPORT
UTC: 08:30
Position: 25.08N 66.12W
COG: 020
Wind: ESE, 8-10 knots
Saturday the 14th was a beautifull sail day, but with accompaning waves. In the morning when I was on watch we noticed a serious change in waves, and the wind started to increase. 20 to 25 knots constant. The sea was seriously disturbed, this happens when there is wind somewhere else, and the waves caused by this wind are noticed hundreds of miles away. The Swan showed how she could dance. And I would’t call it a walz but more like a samba from south America. Because we are still trying to sail northwards in order to get in to a depression so we are actually able to sail eastwards we where beating against the wind. The Swan ditched her bow a few times completley in the waves. Solid (blue) water rushed over the forecastle. And everybody was very excited. It’s something she does very well. It only lasted for a few hours and then the normal wave pattern came back. Still high waves, but much more in a normal rhythm.
Jeroen - Captain
