Worstelen met het weer

ROLING HOME -
0500Z / POS: 48 58N 12 15W / SPD: 6,5 / HDG: 110 / COG: 120 / Wind NNE 12 knots
Struggling with the weather is what we do, but that doesn't affect the atmosphere on board.
It’s really nice during the shipstakeovers. The watches are nice, we explain about sailing the swan, play games, do little jobs. Eat cookies and drink tea and coffee.
The weather is not particular nice, drizzle and rain. The wind is again really from the wrong direction. 3 times a day we plan new routes, eat, set sail, take sail away, repair sail, paint, maintain engines, cook, learn mathematics, bump our head painfully, write another position report, man the helm, sleep and repeat all that the next day.
But the oil that seems to make run smoothly is working very well! Trainees and crew work together now, the crew needs to explain less and less, and the trainees take more responsibility.
We’re coming home, and when everything work 100% everybody will leave the ship… job well done wink-emoticon
PIWS out….
Jeroen Peters (capt. Wylde Swan)
